  1. They already use AUS to connect transcons
  2. IAH, HOU and DFW are already taken
  3. There is prety strong O/D demand from AUS in addition to the connecting traffic.

AUS currently connects LGB and SFO to MCO and FLL (SEA seasonally, irrc - is that still happening? Or, was this just talked about and never really did happen? Still would be a great route for all the tech traffic plus leisure traffic connecting to Florida... Now I'm just rambling). Adding E190 between AUS and SAN would help traffic to Florida on top of the O&D going b/w SAN and AUS (not that there is an overwhelming amount).
