Narrower seats in front?

Is it just my imagination, or are the seats narrower in the first row or two in front? Sitting in row 1 the elbow room seemed exactly the same as in a 737, about one inch less than it should have been in an A320.

I think the Row 1 seats are a little narrower because of the tray table being in the arm of the seat.
