Forgot to mention, the flight was, according to the gate agent, not full so they pulled the aft stairs away to "speed up departure". But on the Kiosk, the seat map showed every row as being filled with a empty middle seat and a few rows and row 23-26 being compleatly empty on the DEF side.

Then that is quite a possibility then. I know that if the flights are pretty open then they will just use the single door procedure. Everytime I've flown out of there this month we have seen loads in the 140s-150s.

Maybe they should create a new boarding process... and board in groups... Group A: Preboarding Customers
Group B: trueBlue members that fly alot and know where their seat is at and know how overhead bins work (Maybe as soon as you earn your first free flight you get toss into this group)
Group C: Everyone else
hehe... why?... obviously preboard have to board first... but I'm assuming most of us loyal jetBlue customers know exactly where our seats are and will go straight to it and not have to be held back by Mr I sit in row 23 but have no idea where row 23 is and start looking at every seat number starting with row 1.... and avoid Ms I have to put this giant roll away under the seat infront of me when it should be in the overhead bin (while she stands clueless in the alse blocking everyone else)... and avoid those that try to fit a bag in the overhead bin that should of been checked but somehow made its way on the plane. I know I'm blowing everything out of porportion... but you know it happens. :D

back to front back?

Did the back to front process return? Recently got a travel reminder in the e-mail with this on the right side:

You in the back, board first
If you like to be one of the first people on the plane, book a seat in rows 20 to 26. In our new boarding process, customers sitting in those rows are invited to board first, and then customers in all remaining rows may board. So if you like to be first, choose from the last!

We can't keep up with all the changes;

1)Pre-boarding - customers traveling with small children, customers acting like small children, and folks needing extra time to get settled.

2)Customers seated in rows 26-20

3)All other customers

This will only be used when we use the forward door for boarding. The dual boarding process will remain the same.

Flew out of OAK to BOS on the Thursday Night Red-Eye twice last month (without the baby so no preboard) and it was #1 followed by #3. I know that the studies have shown that this is just as fast if not faster, but it is downright chaotic ..... One of the clear pluses of travelling with a new born is #1 ......
