Wow !!!

An amazing degree of control - held the nose up, slowed, then let the nose wheels burn and melt but didn't bend any important metal.

The word is that the TVs were turned off - logical I'd say...

That was a great landing considering the situation.

MSNBC is reporting that they could not dump fuel that they had to burn it off.

The nose gear being able to withstand such a landing is great workmanship for AirBus
Agreed. Of course, if workmanship had been perfect...the nose gear would never have gotten into its 90-degree position in the first place, eh?

You are right about that but the POST of the gear was able to withstand such force that it was subjected to.

Absolutely a great landing by this pilot! Kudos to JetBlue for a job well done. ^

Hopefully, JetBlue won't have to deal with some frivolous lawsuits from some unscrupulous pax who think that this is their key to a big payday.

Well, the nose gear is built to withstand the weight of the aircraft, but I had thought there was a chance it could snap. Either way, though, it would have been safe.

The flight crew will always turn off in flight entertainment because it is a distraction. It is paramount that passengers listen to crewmember instructions.

Great job by pilots using a little reverse thrust and full flats and spoilers to slow the aircraft and touch down gently.

I'd still take a 737 over an A320 any day for safety, but its nice to see the raw nose gear hold up anyway.

Com'on, this is the US, and the flight was originating from Southern Cal. Of course there will be frivolous lawsuits... And I imagine a lot of injuries will suddenly pop up also....

A text book landing, only with few sparks. A big ^ to the pilots of Flight 292.

According to CNN, the IFE is not normally on during takeoff and landing anyway.

MSNBC interview says that IFE was turned off about an hour before the final touchdown.

All or most of the passangers were move to the rear of the plan with as much on board baggage as possible to keep as much weight in the back as possible.

The scarry thing is that they showed a quick clip of how close the plane was to the end of the runway.

Nice

The pilots did a great job on that flight and was very pleased to see the passengers were able to use the stairs. Unfortunately today we lost a S-3B Viking Jet at NAS Jacksonville. It crashed a mile from the runway killing the 2 pilots. The Jet Blue picked my spirits up today by watching such professionalism. Way to go.
