Jetblue Blue vs Jetblue Basic?

So for my last few trips the last few years, I always booked Jetblue Blue because I have a carry on. I have a checked bag and a personal item which is like a fanny pack. My carry on contains a lot of electronics and is bulky.

I notice that Jetblue is soon offering Jetblue Basic seats where they allow a carry on. I remember they did that many years ago before requiring you to buy a Jetblue Blue ticket if you wanted to have a carry on. I have to have a carry on as I have electronics that I carry in it and would not ever gate check the bag since I have electronics in it.

If you are going to fly with Jetblue, would you say if you must have a carry on and want to make sure you have space in the overhead bin for your carry on, always book jetblue blue even though you can soon get a carry on with jetblue basic? I think back then, I always booked jetblue basic when they allowed a carry on with it. In many of my flights from the US to Cancun and vice versa, not once did I ever have to gate check my bag ever with Jetblue or even Delta or American ever. I remember with Delta and American, I almost always bought the cheapest seats which meant I was the last boarding group. With Jetblue, I believe I'm in the 2nd to last group to board because I'm Jetblue Blue correct? Now with Jetblue, I know there is Jetblue basic tickets where you are not allowed to have a carry on so to me, I always felt comfortable that there will allmost always be overhead bin space available compared to if I bought a delta basic or american basic economy so I fly with Jetblue much more since the cost is usually less than the other 2 carriers.

If you book jetblue basic, you cannot cancel or change the ticket after 24 hours and get travel bank like with jetblue blue? I know you get that 24 hour courtesy cancel but that's only if your flight is more than 7 days away? I know that with jetblue blue, you could even cancel a day before your flight and get travel bank. You don't get to choose your seat either so most likely you get the middle seat?

Is the overhead spin availability with jetblue and other us airlines a more bigger concern with domestic flights as opposed to international?

Since jetblue now offers jetblue basic where you get a carry on, is it risky to buy jetblue basic ticket if you need overhead bin space? I felt there was always overhead bin space on Jetblue compared to Delta and American as long as you book Jetblue blue because there are jetblue basic passengers who board after you but also because they aren't allowed to have a carry on which would mean much more increased overhead bin space?

I think you need a travel agent or someone else to arrange your trips, jerry90210.

I have no comment. It is too early. I am also recently on the wagon and this is going to drive me to drink again.

I have suggested this before and was offered an indignant harrumph. OP is on his own.

This is the last time I will reply to one of these threads. Wishing jerry90210 and his ever-so-valuable luggage the best of luck.
