If not can I gift the credit to a friend, simply send them a code or something? Thx Book future travel for yourself. When you find out you can't go on that trip, continue to change the trip to a different one. If you change a flight to a cheaper one and the credit that was used expired, then you won't get anything back. If you keep changing to a new flight that's more than your original credit, you could keep extending it that way. Always use the change function and don't cancel. |
Damn, I didn't realize Jetblue doesn't have any change fees so can I literally change from JFK-CUN to JFK-BOS? I guess I should just find the cheapest flight right now and then keep moving to a higher priced one in the future and always book with the furthest dates out. I'm also assuming that travel bank can only be utilized for Jetblue operated flights correct?

That's how I'm doing it with travel bank balance that had an expiration date of September 2023. If you were to change a future flight to a cheaper one, as long as the cheaper one is more than the expiration amount, you should get credit. As for travel bank being used for only jetblue flights, possibly but not sure. |
I've been doing that here as well. But now that I actually want to use it I'm finding I can't :(
I have a Blue booking for FLL-BOS and it even says it has a change fee waiver (and a cancel waiver) I tried to change it to a BOS-DUB flight and it says there are no flights available. If I search for that same date there is indeed a flight and there are seats available in all booking classes. Is it not possible to change a domestic flight to an international flight? Is this just a web site limitation or is it a rule I've fallen afoul of? |

Is this just a web site limitation or is it a rule I've fallen afoul of? I've changed my flight plenty of times but the one time I've ran into a issue, was when an international flight I had originally booked wasn't in the typical blue basic, blue and blue extra. I don't remember what the names of the other fare classes were but for blue, on the international flight I had booked (JFK-CTG) it was blue plus. This flight was also booked using the change function to take advantage of the expired credit. I tried to change this flight to a different one but couldn't. I chatted with a jetblue rep and he mentioned that it was due to the different fare classes (blue plus) not being available on the new flight. Only way to change to a new flight was to cancel and rebook. The chat rep was able to reinstate the expired funds and used that to book a new flight for me. This could be why you're not able to switch to an international flight. If it's the case, talk to a jetblue rep. If they say that the only way to change is to cancel and rebook, tell them about the expiring/expired credit that's attached to the domestic one you're trying to change and they should be able to reinstate it before booking your new flight. |

However reading this thread suggests otherwise. Are you saying you managed to get things changed out past 1yr from original purchase date? |
I'm trying to change from BOS-DCA to BOS-JFK on a different date. The original fare using partial Travel Bank for a now expired credit was in Blue Extra. Now, when I want to make the change online without first cancelling (to save the expired credit), it's only offering me Blue Extra tickets. The new ticket I want (to JFK in Blue, not Blue Extra) is more than the original DCA Blue Extra ticket. Is there any way to make a change to a different class during the Change process? Or is it something that an agent on the phone or chat could resolve?
