Free BLADE helicopter transfers for select Mint customers
I'm a Mosaic 2 flying EWR-LAX in Mint this week and received the following email last week about a complimentary BLADE helicopter transfer to the airport:
This offer isn't specifically for Mosaics as I know two other people who are flying in Mint who received this offer. One was a legacy Mosaic who dropped off when the new program started and another had never flown JetBlue before. Pretty interesting, anyone else get one of these?
A complimentary helicopter ride? It’s Mint to be.
Your BLADE Airport flight awaits—and it’s on us. See inside.
It looks like you’re already poised to fly in Mint condition with your upcoming Mint flight. And to elevate your trip even more—plus thank you for being a Mosaic member—we invite you to enjoy a complimentary helicopter transfer with BLADE, before your flight.
[... details about how to book the transfer removed ...]
As a reminder, thanks to our partnership with BLADE, you can also book BLADE Airport flights with Mosaic-exclusive discount code MOSAIC9245 for 25% off throughout 2023.**
Plus, receive four credits that are redeemable for 4 complimentary seats on BLADE Airport helicopter transfers in the new TrueBlue as part of our Mosaic 4 tier. Learn more at jetblue.com/Mosaic.

Woah! I will admit this is a big perk -- this would really set JetBlue apart from other airlines, and sure beats a Porsche gate-to-gate transfer.
I have a friend who took BLADE to JFK before his flight in Mint last week, and I'm wondering if he got the same deal.

Ive never took them up, but received this offer 2x and my husband has once. I was wondering if they have a quota to fill with Blade or something in a cross promotion deal.
For me it would be fun to try, but have to travel to heliport in Manhattan and its really not that convenient. I did do the LIRR from Grand Central to AirTran last week which seemed easier than getting to the edge of the city and having to wait/board etc.

Just got the invite and am super excited!
Though - I am still not certain how much time it will save.
My flight is at 6pm. Blade wants to be there at 3:10.
That means get a cab to the Blade departure area at 2:45.
If I were to uber to the airport (EWR) from Manhattan, I would likely leave around 3:30.

I got the e-mail for a Mint flight at the end of June---unfortunately, they booked me for the wrong day and all the flights on my actual day of travel cancelled due to potential thunderstorms. I found this out when I arrived at Blade on the West Side. Be sure to check your reservations carefully as despite being offered transportation to meet a specific flight, they ended up booking me the helicopter to catch a flight 2 days after mine
Fortunately, I was there early enough for them to arrange and pay for a car service to JFK.

You need to be at the heliport 10 minutes before flight time. I stay in the Times Sq area so it’s a 7 minute Uber to the Westside heliport.
Allow 10 minutes from landing to your terminal.
so for a 7pm flight I leave my office at 5:30pm maybe 5:15
Now the biggest caveat is weather. If suddenly the Blade is cancelled or delayed then you are screwed

From JFK to Manhattan for me is less of a gamble as arriving late to the office is no big deal.
2 weeks ago I took Blade and a colleague took Uber and the tunnel was closed so it took him over 2 hours whereas I was gate to door in under 30 minutes.

In the 70s for a short time the helicopter was free to International F passengers and was awesome. I did it several times with my parents. Awesome views. Blade doesnt fly over the city but the views are still magnificent.

There was a quite notable thread in the BA forum back in 2020 where a poster sued BA because their tariff said that BA F tickets came with a free helicopter ride, but none was provided.
Regarding B6, I was offered the Blade transfer last month but I declined because I had too much luggage. And, their luggage courier is more than an Uber, so it didnt make sense for me.
