Even More Seat mistake on Blue Basic fare
 

Hoping someone has seen something like this before.

Several months ago, booked 4 Blue Basic seats for CHS-LAX next week. I did pay a little extra to select seats together at booking as 2/4 of us are kids. Today, I wanted to see about the fee for adding checked bags, so I logged in and pulled up the itinerary. It shows that 3 of the 4 of us are in Even More Space seats, but we're all in row 8. We would prefer to carry on rather than check bags.

Sat on a chat for over an hour for a rep to tell me it's an error (obviously) and that we'd have to change to rows 1-5 to actually include a roll aboard (preferred over checking). The EMS seats are all $95+ currently. I went halfway through the process to see what would happen and got a popup that said I was moving from one EMS seat to another EMS seat, but cancelled the change.

Any chance that the boarding passes would actually allow for carry on if I don't change anything?

Also, the itinerary indicates a refund of $170 that the rep said was also an error. No refund processed to my credit card, and nothing in a travel bank.

Has anyone ever encountered issues like this?
