FLL-UIO (Equador) new route question

Just read that Jetblue is adding FLL-UIO starting early next year. Tickets are reasonably priced so far for February. A320, 4.5 hours flight. Since I rarely fly Jetblue, can you guys suggest what kind of seats/food to expect? Any tips on booking? Plan to use Amex plat.

Free snacks (chips, cookies) and sodas. They also sell shelf-stable snack boxes if you want something a little more substantial. Unclear if the route will have the fresh food for sale or not, though if it does that would only be ex-FLL, not on the return.

Seats are 33-34" pitch and pretty much the most personal space in Y on a US carrier. The TV and internet service won't work on board but should be free movies on the IFE system.

Food will be a snack basket, most seats on Jet Blue are what the legacies would consider extra legroom seats, with 34" pitch. About the only complaint with Jet Blue is problems during IRROPS because they have a more limited route network and in the case of FLL-UIO, they only have 1 flight a day.

Since you mentioned the Amex Plat, note that unfortunately there aren't any lounges you can access at FLL. UIO does have a priority pass lounge that looks nice based on their website https://www.prioritypass.com/en/loun...itad-del-mundo

IRROPS is actually less of a problem in the region than for domestic flights. B6 has interline agreements with carriers such as AV. When I missed a flight to BOG, I had them take me to CTG and then onwards on AV without a problem.

Also, isn't FLL-GYE the new route? FLL-UIO already flies today.

Maybe I confused myself with those two. I haven't been to Equador and now thinking of visiting a friend in Quito.

I checked prices for February - tickets are $359 round trip. Is it too early to buy now? Should I wait in hopes prices will go down?

I'd be pretty happy with $360 r/t on that route.

I guess I will go ahead and buy then. Thinking of what to do in 4 days in Quito. Originally just visiting a friend.

The cloud forest area is cool and the old city has some nice sights. And there's the kitchy "stand on the equator" park.
