Flight 714 DFW-BOS diverted to MCO on May 3

Anyone know why flight 714 was diverted to MCO at 1am on its was to Boston?

That's a pretty odd diversion... unless it was planned since MCO is a maintenance base.

Wow that is interesting because that same aircraft, N646JB, was used on my Minneapolis St Paul inaugural flights earlier in the day.
However, it was interesting that that the aircraft left MCO within an hour.

I did some checking... here is what I found in expertflyer... it was a planned fuel stop.

DFW 713P E E10
BOS 1159P
5DFW/ETD 2200 - LATEARRIVAL - LATE DEPARTURE DUE TO LATE ARRIVAL OF EQ *2137*HDQFTP
4DFW/OUT 2144 OFF 2201 *2216*HDQFTP
2BOS/ETA 0431 - PLANNED TECH/FUEL STOP *2113*HDQFTP
5MCO/ETD 0126 - PLANNED TECH/FUEL STOP *2113*HDQFTP
2MCO/ON 0103 IN 0110 *0026*HDQFTP

There was lots of weather in the middle of the country yesterday, so they might have to take a rather strange routing. But I felt bad for the passengers and a 4am arrival was not easy.

Pilot duty time - not legal to operate to Boston but could make it to Orlando. Pilots were replaced in Orlando.
