Non-reclining rows

When selecting seats, row 9 was the first open from the top wo having to pay more. But a window popped up warning the seat does not recline. Does it make a big difference to have a non-reclining seat on a 3-hour flight? Row 9 (non-reclining) or row 15(reclining) - what’s the consensus? What if row 8 reclines all the way back - will that be uncomfortable? I’d say we are average-sized (haha) if that helps.

Is it worth moving 6 rows back to have a seat that actually reclines? I guess it depends on whether you value being comfortable for 3 hours more than getting off the plane 30 seconds sooner. Personal, I don't think it's even close, but everyone has their priorities.

It's a personal judgement, there can't really be a consensus on something like this. I never recline because I believe it's intrusive to the person behind me (and doesn't help me sleep anyway), and almost always get EMS since even if the person in front reclines, it means I can still open the laptop completely and get work done. But, other people can sleep, and other people do recline, so that's up to them. They bumped a guy up to Mint the other day on a LAS-BOS flight I was on b/c his seat was broken and didn't recline, so the airline seems to put some value on it themselves.

Thanks all for the input. Row 9 doesn't sound too bad so moved up.

I think reclinging sounds like more of a benefit, but that's just me

Are you on an A321? If so, you'll have nobody behind you because there is a door behind Row 9. I'd take that anyway over a seat with a row behind me.

I see A320.

Questin for anyone that knows. Looking at flight 0855 from EWR TO PLS on an A321.

Row 8 seats DEF. The map on jet blues site does not indicate an exit behind them in row 9 on that side of the aircraft.

Does anyone know if these seats recline?

Seatguru says no but I know that can be unreliable. I thought someone here might be able to weigh in.

Thanks!

Can anyone advise on Row 8? Seat guru abs seat maestro disagree.

If it was up to me....

...no seats on the plane would recline. When one person reclines it sets off a chain reaction of awful that culminates in the poor schmuck in a non-reclining seat getting hosed. When someone reclines ahead of you it's also extremely difficult to work on a computer.
