Jetblue in MEX

Looks like they got all the MEX slots that they requested for.

Will be interesting to see what they do at LAX next year. MEX will be their first international destination from the West Coast.

Does this mean they might have flights out of MEX that aren't at the crack of dawn?

Yes, that was the whole point. The terrible times they have now are a result of the airport not giving them any prime time slots. Now they will have more "regularly" timed slots which should also save costs and increase revenue as the turns can be shorter and passengers won't need to get to the airport in the middle of the night.

The approximate times of the new flights if the tentative ruling is approved would be:

Fort Lauderdale:
Departs 650AM arriving Mexico City 925AM; Departs 1030AM arriving FLL 235PM
Departs 130PM arriving Mexico City 403PM; Departs 510PM arriving FLL 915PM

Orlando:
Departs 815AM arriving 1101AM; Departs 1206PM arriving 415PM
Departs Noon arriving 238PM; Departs 343PM arriving 745PM

Los Angeles:
Departs 730AM arriving 115PM; Departs 220PM arriving 425PM
Departs noon arriving 545PM; Departs 650PM arriving 855PM

I know there is a lot of demand from LA area to Mexico city, but i wonder if it would've made more sense for Jetblue to go from JFK with Mint considering the much higher number of feeds available from there.

That wasn't an option. B6 was not eligible to apply for service from JFK under this order. Remember that they requested service from LGB but the city council did not approve international service from that airport. Thus they had to move it to LAX.

That's great. I visited MEX last year and it was lovely, the only gripe was getting there late in the evening and leaving early in the morning. I felt like I had wasted at least one night at the hotel.
