Jetblue pricing strategy
Looking at a jet blue flight for Oct this year now they have released their schedule extension. In particular it'll be the friday of the around the Columbus day holiday. (no flexibility unfortunately)
Not being overly familiar with JetBlue - do their prices tend to oscillate up and down - in which case wait for a deal! Or are they generally cheaper the further out you book? |
It is rare that you'll see the cheapest price when the booking window opens IME. That said, if you're booking around a holiday with minimal flexibility there's a decent chance JetBlue also knows there is a holiday happening and will do its damnedest to hold the line.

Anybody booking today for the Friday of a holiday weekend 8 months out is locked in and thus likely price insensitive. B6 and every other carrier knows this. No reason to discount seats now. That can always come later.
The issue is that later, the seats may have sold and there won't be any. So the trick is to find that time when seats are low and plentiful. If you knew that for sure, you could replace RM/IM on any carrier. |
