B6 renew ATL service 30 March 2017

Guess what is it? JetBlue has return to Atlanta service, but they won't begin in September 2017. Due to gate issues. Remember last time they tried ATL-LGB/OAK over decades ago. Due to competitions against AirTran & Delta. Let see what happens.

Good find! Hopefully it works out better for them this time around.

Interesting but this hasn't been confirmed by JetBlue yet.

And it won't be confirmed until Atlanta grants them the two gates they requested.

Last time around, they entered the market at the wrong time. Delta was barrel-picking for business, and AirTran wanted in as well. Delta was selling tickets below cost to try to get the LCCs to leave. They were sort of successful as Jetblue pulled out.

16 daily flights. What would that be...8x JFK, 6x BOS, 2x FLL or MCO?

I'm not an expert at new city expansion but isn't 16 a lot to start off? Even Nashville they went back in with only a few flights a day so far and have been expanding very slowly. I'm surprised they requested 2 gates right off the bat.

I feel that anything lower would result in Delta beating them without a doubt. They've gotta win over business flyers.

Any chance ex DCA? I'm hoping ex DCA. At least one a day.

Not sure B6 have the slots at DCA, but ... one can wish.

Great to hear the announcement.

Go B6.

It's been confirmed on our intranet site.

Wow!

They've been talking about increasing the Midwest footprint as well. Now I wonder if that will happen if they're putting focus into cities like ATL as well as all the new Mint routes.

What is quoted in the article was reaffirmed on our intranet site. We want 2 gates and plan a dozen or so flights.
