ATC channel
 

Does anyone know when the ATC channel on the audio channels will be working?

They used to have it on United and it is interesting to listen to, especially during takeoffs and landings.

Listening to Ch.9 or ATC on UA these days are a miss-n-hit post 9/11 and often at co/pilot's discretion, I've given up but there are discussions over there. As for B6, I don't recall ever getting ATC audio in-flight lately, if ever although we flew mostly transcon routes only.

If you mobile device is on Android, might want to consider looking into something like this - also on iOS, as long as you have access to FlyFi (WiFi) inflight (please, keep it private & listen via your earbuds or Bose, etc. and not freak out your fellow pax or FA's)

I know it was announced awhile ago that it would be coming (mint planes? new 321s?), but as a pilot, I would love to have it in the cabin.

The system on the 321s has the ability to broadcast ATC communications. That feature, last I heard, was disabled because the installation was preformed incorrectly and needed to be rewired. I'm not sure if that has been completed yet but I will check.

Thanks for checking. I fly LAX to JFK regularly and as of last week, it still has not been activated.

The ATC channel won't be available until around the summer. The system was wired incorrectly, as I have been told, and the fix won't be ready until the summer. If that changes i'll be sure to report back.

This will make B6 a lot more appealing. Used to love ch9 before it became so rare on UA.

Jet blue can't make their web site work. They will never get ATC working.

Jetblue got the touchscreen TVs working on the a321s, but still not the ATC channel. Anyone have any updates on that?
