Separate mint security line @ LAX?
 

Hey gang,
On the 6:15 am flight tomorrow form LAX to JFK. Very excited to experience new mint product. Quick question... Is there a separate line for mint customers through security? Anyone flown on this flight and have a sense of how long security will take? Trying to maximize sleep time!

Just flew B6 LAX (T3) nonstop back to JFK yesterday. Yes, there is a dedicated lane for Mint pax, and, also for those with Pre-Check (which we've used) and it's much faster. At midday, it took no more than 10 minutes to get thru - as always, YMMV - probably saving 10+ minutes vs. regular pax with full screening. For your predawn flight, depending on # of flights sharing the terminal, lines & wait time could vary Look for an uniformed airline employee for help to direct you if you don't see the sign for the proper lane to get into.

The lines at the terminal are policed by a contractor. I'm not sure if "Mint" counts as first class in their eyes. I've seen them let people through with First Class on US Airways and Virgin America, people with PreCheck, and current/retired military with ID.

Ironically, I was selected for random precheck (it actually wasn't very random, anyone in the regular line traveling alone was given a green PreCheck card) and got to go through security with everyone in the priority line. This was at 8 in the morning though, so your mileage may vary.

Keep in mind too that US Airways has just moved to Terminal 6, so that should reduce the number of people trying to get through security in Terminal 3.

Mint passengers are automatically qualified to posses "Even More Speed" privilege and your boarding pass will display the "Even More Speed" logo.
Those TSA contractors at T3 are definitely familiar with that EMS logo.
