True Blue and AA Advantage
Hi.
I just booked a flight with jetblue but for the first time via JB I used my AA Advantge number when I purchased it. How does this work then? Do i get trueblue points or do i get miles added to my AAA number? Or maybe a little bit of both? Please help me out with this info Thanks in advance! |
Earning AA miles depends on the route that you are flying. The allowed routes are listed here.
http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/ea...es/jetBlue.jsp Not sure if you can earn on both programs if you hypothetically flew STI-BOS-SFO (earn B6 points on STI-BOS and AA miles on BOS-SFO. I see you have DR where you are from so I gave an example To be safe I would just apply everything to TrueBlue unless the AA miles would make or break you obtaining elite status. EDIT: Here's what you can earn on TrueBlue for AA operated Transatlantic, TransPacific, and Deep South America flights from BOS/JFK https://trueblue.jetblue.com/web/trueblue/aa |

On a somewhat related matter, I really wish B6 and AA would enhance this relationship. How amazing would it be if the relationship was similar to that of AA and AS - reciprocal elite recognition, etc.

I would love it, but I doubt it will happen because B6 doesn't have elite status.

Sure they do. It is called Mosaic.
I guess AA and B6 could give reciprocal recognition and I hope they do. |

I thought Mosaic was just a promo to earn more points this year and not an elite status like Gold or Silver on AA?

Earning AAdvantage miles while flying B6, is it only on the non-stops? If I fly from BOS through JFK on a listed earning route - say, to PHX - does it earn? If so, all the way, or just for the latter leg(s) outbound, first leg inbound? Thank you. :)
http://help.jetblue.com/SRVS/CGI-BIN...28400335%29#s1 They're careful to make as much of it explicit as they can, and I don't see this ruled out. [Searches/due diligence landed me here for my question. If there's a better thread, mod please have your way with me...] |
The key to remember is that this is a partnership in some cases but not in others. Basically, the routes that qualify are routes where B6 does not directly compete with AA.
Earning AA on a B6 BOS-PHX flight? Yes, because AA doesn't operate that route. Earning AA on a B6 BOS-DFW flight? Absolutely NOT. It's direct competition with AA. |

SFO is an easier example to explain, perhaps. BOS-SFO is included but JFK-SFO is not. BOS-JFK-SFO on B6 metal would earn nil in AAdvantage. JFK-BOS-SFO would earn for the BOS-SFO route because it is covered. |
Got it. "Route" does not equal "routing". Non-stops only, even though BOS-PHX as well as JFK-PHX are both listed (same with BOS-RSW and JFK-RSW, and some others). Ah, well. It was just wishful thinking about the first and last couple hundred miles. Thank you. :)
