Very impressed so far

I am a UA EWR hostage that managed an escape to Jet Blue today. Waiting to board a flt from JFK- BTV. It is so much nicer here at T5 then Terminal C at EWR. No lines, free wi if, lots of restaurants and lots of seating room by the gates.

Alas, I will be returning to m hostage status as it took me 2 hours to get here today. We are in construction season on the NY roads leading to JFK. When I ca get to EWR from my home in 15 minutes I think I will only be flying them from JFK when the price is really different. My flight on Jet lue was 180. Rt with the expedited service and seat vs UA from EWR which would have been over $600. For that I'll spend 2 hours in traffic.

I wish they had more EWR service.

You're in for a bit of a treat on the way back as well, actually. The airport at BTV is lovely. Free wifi, a reasonably priced restaurant with a view of the runway (landside, floor 2), giant Adirondack chairs and some of the friendliest staff you'll ever meet.

I once missed the last flight of the day there. Entirely my fault.
All I said was, "I missed my flight..." and the check-in agent immediately said "Oh no!" and gave me a confirmed seat on the first flight the next morning at no charge. She offered to arrange a distressed traveller rate at the DoubleTree, and told me that if I stayed at the airport and wanted any coffee, I could just "jump over the check-in desk and knock on the door. We'll be here until two."
That's how friendly the staff are.

Also, if any airline executive is reading and wondering how to win a fan for life, it's letting the passenger who foolishly missed his flight take the next one for free and inviting him to jump over the check-in desk to have a cup of coffee.

Lol. I jinxed myself

Well we departed on timeand had to Tarmac for a while. A pax get up on an active taxi way and has a fight with the FA. Now we have retnd to the gate and a bunch of security dudes have jstbescorted her ff the flight. They are fighting and yelling n the jetway.

We lost our slot and are now in prime time for JFK rush hour. Poor capt. Just apologized and said he doesn't know when we will be taking off.

I know this can happen anywhere and I can believe its happening now.

Oh my. Why was she fighting with the FA?
Or perhaps this is a silly question—some people really don't need a reason. :(

I agree with the positive service, missed my JFK-San flight this morning and after saying the words missed flight, she apologized and got me a confirmed seat for the afternoon flight. Too bad there's only 2 nonstops a day. Tried getting the next flight to lax but too many fees.

To add more, I missed my earlier flight and was unknowingly put on standby for the next flight, thought that was a confirmed seat. Anyways, showed up 2 hours early and when given the bad news, the friendly agent went ahead and confirmed me a seat apologizing for the other agent not telling me.

T5 is great- but it took 9-10 years to get to that point.

The old JetBlue terminal was dismal... and flying JetBlue during the transition was obnoxious as well.

They've made some point to invest in JFK, which I think is a great decision- now if only they could get a way to make the AirTrain not so damn far away from the actual gates.

I've also been pretty happy with JetBlue lately. Southwest, while still offering far more options out of LAX/Burbank, has just not been on my 'nice' list ever since RR2.0 came out, and I find myself willing to go down to Long Beach more and more often to fly JetBlue.

I say it could be better. 30 minutes to drop a bag yesterday at T5. And noone told us that the line was much shorter on the other side. I should have coughed a few bucks for curbside.

The FAs were very good enforcing the $65 EMS seats so we enjoyed lots of space. But these seats do not recline much and would really need footrests and legrests. The buy on board food was OK, free snacks great, I should also have paid that pillow fee. In fact Jetblue gets much better if you pay for every possible add-on, but then the total cost gets very close to that of a UA or DL flight, if not higher.

Anyway I picked them because they had one of the last flights to SFO, only Virgin would have similar times but the premium they ask for legroom is ridiculous.

Our core product (TV, XM, Drinks) Will continue to remain free. That's what our customers originally started to fly us for and that's what we continue to work on. However we've also started to shift focus onto the business and high value customers. Those customers like the additional perks of extra leg room and first boarding opportunities and we've slowly shifted some of the product towards in order to get that high value customer. True Blue will be changing as well in the near future to reward those customers who use us as their airline of choice.

I commute on our flights to get to and from work. So I get to sit in the EMS seats and I get to sit in the non-EMS seats. Part of my commute is also on another carrier as well. I would, honestly, take our non-EMS seat over many of their coach sections. Their Business and First class sections beat the pants off us as we don't have the ability to offer that kind of product but I think that coach vs. coach we beat our competitors.

We just changed our Pillow and Blanket offerings as well. We sell a pillow and blanket pack for $6.99. That includes a plush pillow and fleece blanket and a carrying pack. We also now sell individual pillows for $5.99 and blankets for $3.99. A much improved offering in my mind as you now can choose what you want and take it with you where ever your travels take you!
