Question about lost luggage

Hello,

Took a non-stop flight Thursday from MCO to SYR. Used curbside check-in like usual & paid the fee with a tip for the porter. Only one of our 2 suitcases made it to SYR. Never had this happen on Jet Blue before.

We filed a claim. Its been almost 48 hours & no one knows where my bag is. They say after 5 days we can start a claim for it being "lost", right now its just a delay. LOL. I've also been told it usually shows up before the 5 days.

My question is, will they replace the suitcase too? Or just the belongings if it stays lost?

Thanks!

Yup, they'll replace the suitcase + contents (for their replacement value, not necessarily what you paid for it). But odds are your luggage will be found.

good to know

Well, I guess thats good to know. I assumed they would depreciate things.

Its now been 48hrs, no bag yet & still no idea where it is.

Luggage found!

My suitcase showed up this morning at my house with no explanation for the delay or apology note from JetBlue.

The original tag was still on the bag, and there was a new one, from the airport that it was sent to. Apparantly from the customs info attatched to my bag, it went to Manchester, UK. So my bag has been further than me on this trip.

I have emailed JetBlue regarding compensation for the delay. I'm not looking for anything much, maybe a small credit added to my travel bank, or even the frequent flier miles my suicase earned on its trip would be nice.......

I'll let you know if I get a reply.

Glad to hear! I'm kinda curious how it ended up in the UK... guess it landed on a VA flight somehow.

Did you get a credit or voucher when you first reported it lost?

It was somehow loaded onto the VA flight.....not sure how that happens

The only thing that was given us when we reported it missing was report of delay to checked baggage.... No credit or voucher...... I would have felt better about the whole thing if maybe they had.

You should be getting a $30 voucher (per bag) for the inconvenience. If you don't see that in your travel bank in the next few days, I'd call 1-800-JetBlue and ask to speak to Central Baggage. =)

Good luck!
