Current fare drop policy

Whats the current fare drop policy, is there still a change fee assessed and any savings above the change fee are credited?

Historically there hasn't been any change fee, just a travel credit in the amount of the difference. AFAIK that hasn't changed. It was current as such pretty recently: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/jetbl...d-january.html.

No change fee as of last month

I took advantage of the price reduction last month and there was no change fee.

I got a credit when the price dropped last month, and again when it dropped this month!

What if the outbound has gone up but the return has dropped? Will they still give the price drop credit for the return?

Since you really have 2 separate flights booked (outbound is one, return is separate), you absolutely can get credit if one drops, no matter what happens with the other flight. All you gotta do is call. And wait on hold.

If there are severe weather issues, that wait can be awful long, so don't do this on Wednesday this week!

Had to wait 25 min, but did get the $57 credit for the return leg. Thanks

Looking at JetBlue for a LAS-JFK flight on April 3, 2011 but the price right now is awfully steep and I was wondering about refunding the difference since I saw on JetBlue's website the following:

"For JetBlue Nonrefundable Fares, changes or cancellations may be made prior to scheduled departure for a fee of $100 per person plus any applicable difference in airfare. Any remaining balance will be placed in a JetBlue air-only credit and may be applied toward future travel for one year from date of issuance. If a nonrefundable reservation is not changed or cancelled prior to scheduled departure, all money associated with the reservation is forfeited."

If you buy a flight now and the price decreases at a later date, you can call and get the difference in a JetBlue credit that can be used for a future flight. The $100 fee only applies if you change or cancel your actual flight.

I can cofirm the above as of today's date. I just got a $56 credit for a flight. Good for 1 year from today. No change fee charged.

You can also do the change online (just did it for myself on a flight that went down $10).

Go into Manage Flights on the website, click "Change this flight", and then simply choose the exact same flight again, it will keep your reservation as-is and issue you an electronic credit.

Mine was a one-way booking though, so I don't know how it works with a round-trip booking where only one fare has changed for the better.

That would certainly be faster than waiting on hold (given the weather issues). Of course, I would be afraid that I would somehow lose my reservation!
