jetBlue Starting Anchorage 5/26/11

Its bookable via the website JBU500/501 from Long Beach 1920-2357 0110-0745. Looks to be Daily. I would expect a PR to come out sometime overnight tonight into tomorrow.

It'll be interesting to see what happens and how AS reacts...

But at the Cabbage Do John Parrott (ANC Airport Director) indicated we'd be getting a new domestic carrier.

Wow, I am impressed. LGB is actually a great choice... I would have thought they'd do SEA-ANC like CO does but that route is so dominated by AS that B6 wouldn't make any headway.

Major kudos to jetBlue on this one, I have a feeling this route will be extremely profitable for them.

Drag! I didn't even know that. Is that B6 first-ever new nonstop LGB-ANC? Lets hope the routes will be very successful. I can't believe it. B6 will wait for real official news releases later this morning. I'll post it shortly if I can see real official PR from B6. Do you know which the equipment is A320 or E90?

It will be an A320; there are no E90s on the west coast for B6 anymore.

They're dropping it just before AYCJ starts.

"value airline" sounds better than "low cost"
No place for ANC on the current route map. Curious about the new design. Maybe a blob in the pacific ocean?

You don't have to wait for the so-called Real official news when the website was already accepting reservation as of yesterday.

That would preclude connecting traffic. LGB doesn't have a ton, but the ability to add SLC, LAS and AUS as natural feeds isn't horrible.

Add that B6 would be going head-to-head with AS then... (even though its still LA-ANC service)
