JFK-MCO Flight Help

I am currently booking the East Coast leg of my Summer trip. I just booked a Virgin America flight to JFK from SFO for $129 one way. Now, I am looking for a flight from JFK to MCO (Orlando). jetBlue was asking for $104/person one way. Is that reasonable? I'm not sure, because the price difference between the SFO-JFK and JFK-MCO seems pretty small and the difference in distance is great. I also heard about jetBlue's extra legroom. Is it worth the extra $25/person? Thanks!

Also, Delta Airlines is at $104/person. Is Delta better or jetBlue?

That's very typical. Though often the shorter flights are significantly more expensive than the longer flights. Airline pricing rarely makes sense...

jetBlue's regular seats have more legroom that Delta's, most people don't bother buying up to EML. jetBlue also has better on-board entertainment than most Delta flights. All else being equal, take jetBlue.

I'm biased, but I vote for JetBlue; there's free TV, leather seats, and generally nice people. If your flight's on an A320 (look at the seatmap... 3x3 seating configuration), I'd skip the extra legroom seats-- the regular seats have a 34" pitch, which is plenty. I'd probably say the same for the E190s, but the pitch is a little bit smaller--if you're tall, it might be worth considering.

The website will be down until mid afternoon on Saturday 01/30 if things go according to plan. So far there haven't been any major snags with the reservation change over so look for the new website sometime Saturday afternoon / early evening.

B6 to MCO

Also Jetblue's terminal at JFK is much nicer than Delta's. Jetblue does not charge for the 1st bag unlike Delta which charges 20-25$ so you would save money off the bat . B6 has free snacks and drinks on the plane. Go for Jetblue.

Welcome to FlyerTalk!

Assuming comparable price and no other motivations (e.g. loyalty program earnings), the jetBlue experience from JFK is miles ahead of the Delta option. It is a no-brainer IMO.

I just found out that the flight from LGA is the same price as JFK. I will be staying at the Four Points by Times Square. Which is closer? Which is the easiest way to get to JFK or LGA? The flight from JFK is at 7:23AM and LGA is 7:55AM. Opinions?

Loads of information at

http://www.flyerguide.com/wiki/index...sportation_FAQ

IMO...if you're going to take a taxi/car, use LGA. If you're using public transit, use JFK. Happy Jetting!

Is there normally going to be traffic to take a taxi from Manhattan to JFK during the Summer time? Since our flight will be at 7:23AM. I'm probably going to head to the airport at 5-5:30AM.

Don't think you're going to have much trouble that time of day. That said, the Van Wyck has backups at the strangest hours, so no promises.

Not likely to hit traffic at that hour from Times Square.

I'd still fly jetBlue from JFK at the same price point as Delta from LGA. The LGA terminal isn't quite as bit a pit as the JFK one for Delta. The jetBlue terminal at JFK is much nicer than that at LGA.

Nothing particularly compelling about going from LGA rather than JFK, save for a $10 difference in cab fare.

Thanks for the help! I just booked the JFK flight. Now, to book my flight home through UA...

Does anybody know about how much it would cost to go to JFK from Times Square in the early morning? Thanks!
