Tokyo - Day Tour Recommendations
 

My father is planning to spend several days in Tokyo in April and would like some recommendations on day tours in and around the Tokyo region. He has looked at some of the tours listed on the Viator website so he has a general idea of what's available (eg, Mt Fuji, Nikko).

Any pointers on worthwhile places to visit and good tour operators will be greatly appreciated.

I suggest trying JTB as they have many international locations.

Probably the most well regarded for English speakers is JTB's English tour branch, Sunrise Tours. You can find them here.

Otherwise, if your father prefers to be more adventurous and do it alone, we can certainly recommend some itineraries for him. It should be pointed out that with a good guidebook, Tokyo is relatively easy to do even for someone that doesn't know an ounce of Japanese.

I think that my father is planning to do a mix of organised tours and some exploring on his own, so itinerary suggestions would be most welcome.

He is in his mid-60s and is a keen golfer, so he is able to walk reasonable distances.
