Don't forget Nara as a simple day trip from Kyoto.

We did the day trip from Osaka to Hiroshima/Miyajima, definitely doable although a long day. Yeah, Osaka is a little closer, but we started at Osaka station and had to transfer to Shin-Osaka so not terribly different.

Now the Hearton in Kyoto is coming up sold out. So we basically have no where to stay now! I can't find anything else decent and under 200 a night. I am starting to panic now!

what dates are you looking for?

April 7-April 11th. Moving to tokyo for the last night of the 11th. I just booked at the Harvest Hotel Kyoto. Only found two reviews and both were positve. The webite looked nice but can't find much info elsewhere. Still open to other options if I can find better ones. At least I have something secured though.

Looking further afield, Rakuten travel shows Westin Osaka at 25,002yen per night (total for 2 rooms). And Crown Plaza Shin Kobe at around 16,000.
