I've stayed at the Shinagawa Prince many times before, its really four different hotel buildings (each varying in types and quality of rooms offered), the best rooms are the newly remolded rooms in the main tower (which used to be called the new tower), followed by the annex tower (which used to be called the executive tower). The other two buildings of the Shinagawa price are older business style hotel rooms.
Though Shinagawa Prince probably wouldn't rank the top hotels in Japan, so certainly for another discussion, for me I couldn't care less what the top hotel in Japan I don't stay in them to begin with (minus any deals that should arise, aka priority points or spg points). The two LeMeridiens will be leaving SPG next year. |

... At $150 Prince Club rate is a reduction from what it used to be. But given the new ANA close by, I can understand why they made a move on price. The old Main Tower (now called East Tower?) has huge number of these tiny rooms. If you get a room from 4th floor and below, you can't get in the elevators in the morning. So might as well take the stairs. The La Foret close by has huge rooms and the 10-15 minutes walk from the Shinagawa Stn in the evening get the alcohol out of my system. |
