I would agree with MCG above that this restaurant option could be appealing. I have had two colleagues have their weddings at Restaurant Aso in Daikanyama. It is quite nice and will be be below your budget.

The restaurant has a nice courtyard (with retractable top for weather) for the wedding ceremony and then you are moved into a room for dinner. Dessert is then served back in the courtyard. The staff was excellent and everything ran smoothly. The only downside is that you will need to take cabs from Ebisu station.

Still, it does look okay. I think the upshot is, in Japan, a Japanese style wedding is going to be perfect, and a Western style wedding is best organized by, well, Westerners.

Bit like the Sushi in other countries conversation. Therefore if one wishes to go Western style here, the clear bet is to use a Western place such as the Grand Hyatt etc.

Just one man's opinion. :)

I stay at Century Hyatt Shinujuku and Hyatt Osaka often for business throughout the year, and often find several wedding events going on. Many young Japanese brides seem to want Western weddings.

I hate to have been there if there was a minor earthquake at that couple's wedding!!!

Better yet, Hotel Nikko Tokyo..is better -- they're right across the street and literally at the sea front, whereas the Le Merdian Grand Pacific isn't at all on the sea front. I saw their wedding chapel and an actual wedding happening there -- looked very sweet. I stayed at the Hotel Nikko Tokyo - VERY VERY eloquent surroundings and very good fitness and pool and whirlpool (inside/outside!) along with sauna/steam room! :)

To top it off, the majority of the rooms have a _balcony_ which is a plus plus swayed into the Hotel Nikko Tokyo's direction.

Paid just $135 all in for one night there (normal rate is ~$360 CAD a night).

Sanosuke!
