Hotels in Nagoya in May
 

I'll be travelling to Nagoya and staying the night of the 20th of May. The Worlds Fair is going on in the area at that time and hotels room are scarce..especially the reasonably priced ones!!

Can anybody give me some good ideas for hotels that may have some availability on that day? So far...I can use 25,000 Hilton Honors points and stay at the Hilton or I can stay at the Comfort Inn at Centrair Airport and pay $94 including tax.

What do the great people of FT suggest??

If me, I would use the award. I was unable to use Marriott, Hilton or *W awards, so I went to hotels.com to find a room in Nagoya for when I'm there in April

Can't beat the convenience to the airport. I am considering staying there 23 May, the night before my NGO->ORD flight. Looks like NGO itself would be a nice visit for a few hours too...nice outdoor observation areas http://photos.cottee.org/chubu

Thanks to the Expo, the Centrair hotel's cheap (relatively speaking) internet fares appear to be booked solid well into the summer, so I'd reserve now if I were you...

I'll be staying for a single short night at Capsule Inn Nagoya, in Kanayama at the transfer station between the Expo site and NGO. Y2800 a night is pretty unbeatable, and it can be booked in advance, but a little Japanese ability is necessary...

I just found the Sunroute Nagoya Hotel on www.asiarooms.com for $64 USD per night on 5/20/05. the Sunroute is a 3 star hotel that is just a 3 minute walk from Nagoya Station. Pretty good find IMO.
