Transit hotel @ KIX?
 

I have a twelve hour layover @ KIX returning home to HNL. Arriving @ six in the morning, don't leave until six @ nite :( Any suggestions?

A friend of mine stayed at the Nikko Hotel at Kansai airport. Walking distance from the airport terminal with day rates for 0600 - 1800 stay. Not sure what he paid.

There's a couple of things you can do....if you are NOT tired, I would take the train and go to Kyoto - it takes about one hour (or so) - the cost would be about USD$100 -

Osaka itself really doesn't have anything to see. The train drops you off in Kyoto station in the city centre and you have the entire ancient city at your feet. Although four hours isn't much, you still will kill time. Make sure though to give yourself ample time to get back to KIX.

As for the hotel mentioned above, it is walking distance on the man-made island.
