Overnight in Narita
 

The situation. My parents will be arriving around 18:00 on a Saturday and departing around 12:00 on Sunday. They've recently visited Tokyo with me so there would be no particular need for them to go in to the city.

I have read several of the threads on what to do for one-nighters in Narita and I think there will be plenty to keep them occupied for an evening and morning. But, what I'm looking for are any personal experiences with the various airport hotels. Quality of rooms, english skills, etc... TIA.

I have enjoyed the Radisson Hotel Narita Airport. The hotel offers a frequent, complimentary shuttle bus to/from the airport. From the hotel, there is frequent bus service directly to/from Tokyo Station (fee applies) if your parents should need to visit Tokyo. The hotel is owned by Northwest Airlines, so there are always a lot of airline employees around.

The Radisson sits on a large parcel of land that is nicely landscaped. The hotel offers a great health club facility with swimming pools (fee applies). The restaurant has a fairly good dinner buffet in addition to a full menu. Prices aren't bad (relatively speaking for a Japanese hotel restaurant). It is possible to go for a walk around the surrounding area, which can be refreshing after a long flight. Rooms are fairly standard compared with typical U.S.-chain hotels inside Japan. Very neat and clean, recently renovated. The employees provide very good service with a fine grasp of the English language.

Have stayed at the ANA hotel. The room was decent and the view of the airport spectacular. However, the front desk staff spoke very limited english. The top floor restaurants were good (one, a teppanyaki, another more traditional). The biggest drawback to the hotel, however, is there really is no place to walk outside of the hotel. Sounds like the previous poster had a better experience at the Radisson.

The Hotel Tokyu (next to the Hilton) meets your requirements (nice rooms, good facilities and english is spoken fluently). Cost was 6000 Yen last month. The other hotels tend to be a bit more (8-9K). Also the bus to Narita city is free at the Tokyu (runs every half hour and stops at the JR station).
