Transit security at Nartia

Does anyone know if passengers transiting at NRT are allowed to bypass transit security inspection if they are deplaning from a US-originated flight and go directly to the departure terminal for the connecting flight? No experience at NRT but it was the case at HND a year ago. I'd appreciate it if fellow travelers can share their experience.

Both NRT and HND have experimented with streamlined transiting for passengers coming from the US, but those trials have been "off again, on again." I think all passengers need to go through security now. Perhaps someone can post a recent experience. Don't expect past experience to be a guide to future performance - as you can see from the anecdotes in these threads:

HND at least was diverting inbound connecting passengers off of DL flights upstairs and avoiding security in late October. Have seen it at Narita as well. I think this is semi-permanent.

It's been about a year ago, but no transfer security coming off SFO-NRT at T2 (JL).

Honolulu to HND a few months ago, connecting passengers directly to the departures area. (different topic, but not the case for HNL NGO no option to be directed other than the general direction)

Will check HNL HND again shortly.

SFO to HND back in July, there was a sign saying T3 connections to turn left to the departures area and T2 connections to go down to the escalator to the bus. Can report back in a week or so if that's still the case.

Yes, there will be that caveat for HND, if you are transferring between T3<=>T2 international you can't avoid transfer security.

Honestly I was kinda surprised to see that sign since I was arriving on JAL.

Thank you everyone for your insights and feedback. I wanted to give an update from my experience yesterday - transiting passengers on ANA flight arriving into NRT were allowed to go directly to the departure area. It saved a lot of time and hassles and I hope they make it permanent.

Coming in from HNL on NH183 (Dec 7), we were allowed to go directly to the departures area. Same thing as last year. It was a pleasant surprise not having to go through security.
