45k yen is sufficient?

Yes, it should be. I want to alert you that you should strive to minimize the amount of cash you (temporarily) need at HND or NRT.
Travelex has the worst exchange rate. If you can possibly not exchange there, you will be better off.
I won't presume. Do your credit card issuers know you're going to Japan for {dates}?
Where you should exchange your dollars for yen is either Daikokuya or World Currency Shop. (WCS has fewer stores since I last visited.)

Man, don't get me started on Travelex. Their rates are usually so bad exchanging to Yen and immediately back to Dollars makes you lose like 10-15% of it. I can understand asking for a fee, but it's the worst out of any of the exchange places at the airport.
ie: today's market rate is ~144.6jpy/1usd. They'll give you around 137jpy/USD, then ask for 152jpy/USD when exchanging back.

That is enough, but I would get a Pasmo or Suica IC Card and load it with at least 5K Yen for use at kombini and vending machines.
