Osaka hotel advice please…

4 nights in Osaka, March 2025, arr/dep Shinkansen. First time tourists. Any thoughts about these hotels, primarily location please, but any other comments more than welcome! Thanks in advance.
Swissotel Nankai Osaka; Intercontinental Osaka; Osaka Marriott Miyako; or Westin Osaka.
Spending Avios hence selection.

You might look at Bonvoy (Marriott) properties closer to Shin-Osaka Station and Osaka Station. Courtyard is short walk to Shin-Osaka Station, and Aloft Dojimo is next to entrance/exit to under arcade leading to Osaka Station.
I stayed in both. Can't beat for convenience. Lots of food option/stores and metro system access.

I don't think Shin-Osaka Station is a good location to spend four nights - It's convenient for the Shinkansen but it has little else to recommend it. If the OP were looking for a place to spend one night before catching an early train, it would make sense.

Osaka Station is "downtown" - an entirely different proposition.

Thanks both for replies but four hotels listed are likely four from an Avios list. So probably going with one them, question is which one!!

Westin Osaka had a shuttle from the west side of Osaka Station. It is walking distance but I wouldn't want to walk it (again) with luggage and would plan to arrive/depart when the shuttle is operating. Comfy hotel. Cigars were ok in the lounge.

I've stayed at the IC and the miyako and I like the area around umeda better so I'd go for the IC. It's got a great pool also. Whiskey www is also worth having a drink at as is the kinki university restaurant in the same building complex as the IC. Miyako is a nice hotel and great views but tennoji is a little different neighborhood in my view but is starting to shake off the seediness.

Location for what? Shopping? Daytrips? Nightlife?

“first time tourists” so all.

You mentioned the Intercontinental; does that mean you can use any IHG hotel like Holiday Inn?
I stayed at the Holiday Inn Osaka Namba in May this year. This is in the touristy Dotonbori area with lots of things to see, experience and eat if you don't mind the heavy crowds.

OP three posts above says only those 4 hotels. So no.

If you are a first time tourist, then the Swissotel will probably be the "easiest" as it is close to all popular tourist areas (Namba, Dotonbori, Shinsaibashi, Sennichimae)

The IC and Westin are in the Umeda / Osaka station area. It is not as tourisy as Namba, but instead it offers a more upscale shopping environment

The Miyako is 3 subway stops away from Namba, not terribly far by any means but one area next to the hotel can be considered...seedy as it is one of the """legal""" brothel area in Japan. The hotel itself and its immediate area are fine though

I recently stayed at Hotel Royal Classic, which is near Swisshotel and location was good, as was the suite in the hotel.
