Ritz-Carlton, Andaz, or Hyatt Centric in Tokyo?
I need a room tomorrow night and I'm already in Tokyo. I have stayed at the Andaz before and I really like it. it's the other two that I haven't stayed that I'm considering giving it a shot. The easy answer is to go back to the Andaz. I'm a Hyatt Globalist and also a Marriott Titanium Elite. Where would you stay?

I've stayed several times at Andaz since Nov 2022. My most recent stay was earlier this month and I also stayed last month -- both were perfect. The new Director of Rooms is doing a great job.

What did you choose? And how did it work out?
I agree Andaz is great lately, and I think Centric Ginza is super underrated--very cool and quirky and a great young staff eager to please. RC is old and super dated and stodgy imo.

I went with the RC. The reviews are right and that its a dated property. The Andaz is without a doubt better in almost every way. I even prefer the breakfast at the Andaz over the RC. I'll post more details in the RC thread once I get home.

Got it. Always better to find out on a quick one-night stay, at least!

Those hotels are in entirely different categories. The Centric is basically a budget Hyatt in the shopping district. I dont like staying there. No frills. The RC is targeted at rich domestic Japanese. I find the value horrific but the location excellent. Maybe if I got free Marriott upgrades I would like it more. Its very Japanese. Lots of rules. Cold. The Andaz is a great balance and an ok location.
I much prefer the Grand Hyatt Tokyo to all three of those. Far better overall experience and value. The MO is also nice but only if you need to be downtown.
