Tokyo Stay
Planning to stay in Tokyo during one of the most expensive times of the year, December 30 - January 3 and wanted to get some insight on my following options.
1. Sheraton Miyako Hotel Tokyo - Luxury Room, 1 King Bed, Non Smoking - $424/night 2. Hilton Tokyo - King Junior Suite Executive - $568/night - Seems like the most amount of space between the 3. 3. Cerulean Tower KING (EXECUTIVE FLOOR) -$583/night - Might be bad location If anyone also has some recommendations feel free to chime in. I evaluated Mesm, Pullman, Tokyo Marriot, Hyatt Regency, Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, The Strings by InterContinental Tokyo, Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa, Kimpton Shinjuku, and The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo but they didn't make that much sense to be in terms of the price/sq.ft. |
You dont say whether you have some status with any of the hotel programs you mention. We just finished a stay at Hilton Tokyo - it has a good location with easy access to subway and the rest of Tokyo, a good breakfast buffet, and we were treated very well there. I would also contunue to check prices, as they will fluctuate. We had a Tower suite, a separate bedroom and living room with large sectional and desk. It was a very large space. It does only have a single bathroom for the suite.

I am Marriot Plat and Hilton Diamond. Yea I might continue to check, it's just crazy as even most of the 4 star hotels are charging $500+ for decent sized rooms but I do get my dates are one of the highest priced. For some reason I just don't find any of the Prince Hotel rooms very attractive. I really like Mesm but seems like they are a little overpriced for the hard product. If prices go down a bit for The Capitol or The Westin, may look into those as well.

Can you recommend an Air Band B or similar for less than$100 within a ten minute walk from a Tokyo Metro or Toei station. Must have a private 'western' bath. A live in host is nice . It's hard to shop Air Band B with no REAL addresses listed. The hotel I've booked has a kitchen and washer dryer which I see no use or limited use ? at best,. It could be nice if I buy 7/ 11 (et.al) microwave meal. The hotel is located within five minutes of aTokyo metro and the J Y serves the same station. the hotel is charging with all taxes at around $80 US.
