KIX immigration time planning

I land in KIX from Paris next week. Does anyone have any updated experience with KIX immigration? I land at 1030a and am in Business Class so I should be first off the plane.

I am planning for my train ticket and train seat reservation, so I need an idea on how much time to allow.

Also...if I make a reservation and immigration is way longer and I miss the train, will they rebook me on a later train without any penalty?

Thanks!

I don’t have any recent experience (post pandemic) but the main factor will be how many other international flights are arriving at the same time (a quick look at the website showed there are 3 other flight from Korea arriving about the same time as yours, so it may take some time for you to clear everything). My experience tend to range from 20 min out of the door to 2 hours+. It’s really YMMV.

As for train tickets, not sure what you meant by ‘they’ (airlines, JR, the government?). Just like you booked 2 separate airline tickets, nobody is responsible for you missing the connection. You should really make provisions for delay in going thru immigration when you made your bookings. But I believed if you missed your train which you have a reserved seat, you can just take the next trains within the same day with unserved seats.

I went through KIX couple of weeks ago on 16 Oct, but that was around 2.30pm. There were a couple of other flights from Hong Kong also arriving around the same time besides my Scoot flight. With a checked bag, it took me just under 30min to disembark the aircraft and get kerbside to catch an airport bus. I had done the "fast track" on MySOS and also electronic customs declaration, so that saved a fair bit of time.

My experience was probably faster than average, so I reckon if there's more flights arriving the same time as your flight then it could took much longer.

Have been through HND and FUK
Both cleared immigration with less than 10 people in front of me
More than half the people had not pre-filled MySOS
Travelling in J

Where are you going by train?
Reservations are unnecessary if it is a short distance. Even long distance is not usually a problem to go without a reservation unless it is a holiday.

Yeah, don't bother pre-booking a train from KIX. You can just buy a ticket at the airport and take the next train departing, whether Haruka or Rapi:t.

Nankai rapi:t is the best if you are going to Namba, which is the best tourist area. $7 and 30 minutes.

And super cool train!
