Jpn, HKG, SAfrica - happen to be 3 most important places (along with USA) for me also.

Here's an interesting map created by Eric Fischer. The most popular locations to photograph in Tokyo - based on 2010 to 2013 data:
I see hotspots around Shinjuku, Harajuku, Shibuya... Omotesando is one long hotspot. On the other side of town are Tokyo DisneyLand and Tokyo SkyTree, I guess ... Fun to look at. This helps me to answer the question "What are the sights of Tokyo?"
And here's another layer of analysis. The most popular photo locations for tourists vs. locals:
Legend:
Blue = Locals (those who tweeted from the same location for at least a month)
Red = Tourists (those considered local in another city but tweeting from a different location)
Yellow = Could be either:
Most photos around Omotesando are taken by tourists, while most photos in, say, Shirokane are taken by locals. Everyone has their camera out at Tokyo Tower.
