KIX train station to Kyoto JR station : 1h20m by Limited Express Haruka (train time only)
ITM monorail station to Hankyu line, then Hankyu Karasuma, then JR Kyoto station by subway: approx 1h15m (with connection time)

I see the value in the case of connecting flights. Your trip ends in Osaka and you fly back to the US so doing ITM-HND-USA is quicker than doing Osaka - Haneda on the Shin and then check in.

Limousine bus from ITM to Kyoto station is 50 minutes.

It's actually not that dynamic for foreign (non-Japanese) travelers. OMAAT details the pricing here: https://onemileatatime.com/how-to-bo...estic-flights/

Actually, LCC (low cost carrier) prices are quite dynamic and often significantly cheaper than shinkansen and ANA/JAL. Downside as compared to ANA/JAL may be separate ticketing and luggage handling.

I apologize for the misinformation here. No LCC currently uses ITM, while a few different companies use nearby KIX and UKB (Kobe).

I'm referring to the majority of the flyers on domestic flights which obviously are non-foreigners, the bulk of the revenue is contributed by them. In their case, it's dynamic.
