Was just at the park in Narita n some cherry or plum blossoms have already started blooming!
4 trees already have full pink blooms but most of them are just starting it seems.
maybe the warm weather has something to do with it.
feels so warm like summertime.

A friend shared her photos of ikegami Ume Garden in Ota-ku at the beginning of March and there were buds still unfurling then.
Even so, there are other kinds of cherry that aren’t the Yoshino variety and you will come across quite a few Sakura hybrids that are starting to bloom.

Luckily my yearly conference happens to be in March instead of February this time :-).
Booked from 19th to 28th (in TYO), might be a bit lucky.. currently the JMC sees first at 21st and full at 29th in Tokyo.

Korakuen and Tokyo Midtown have reported first blossom. Tokyo as a whole seems ready to erupt into bloom imminently.

The trees at Yasukuni Shrine (where Tokyo’s representative Yoshino cherry tree is) have reportedly started to bloom.
Also at Meguro River and Rikugien as well as the already mentioned Korakuen and Tokyo Midtown.

Rikugien has a couple of webcams, so you can check things out before going.

The weeping cherry trees looks amazing now and is lit at night. So there’s that as well as the currently unfurling Yoshino cherries.
The Meguro River can be checked out here:
?????????
(Again, a good place for night viewing)

First blossom 24th March, full bloom 3rd April
https://sakura.weathermap.jp/sp/en.php
Or first blossom 25th March and full bloom 2nd April
https://s.n-kishou.co.jp/w/sp/sakura...ou.html?&fla=3
Weather is colder than average right now with very cool nights. This may delay the first blossom and slow down progress to full bloom.
