Hotel in omotesando

Can anyone recommend a hotel there, close to the "Champs-Elysees." I love the vibe in that area but have yet to succeed in looking for a hotel there.

Thanks.

The only place I can think of nearby is Tokyu Stay Aoyama Premier, about an 8-minute walk from Omotesando crossing.

That's a great area.

What about this one?

Omotesando is great, but Koen-dori (street that runs northwest from Shibuya Station towards NHK complex) has somewhat of a similar vibe and is also nearby.

Thanks. I am surprised at the lack of quality hotels in that area.

There's an Oakwood in Kita-Aoyama.

Well, if you're looking for high-end, I can't think of any. Closest would be the ones in Shibuya... like Cerulean or Tokyu Excel.

Well, I'll be damned! That place used to be a high-end soapland/house of ill repute in the guise of a private "club." Takeshi Kitano, who lives around the corner, allegedly was a frequent customer.

Don't be coy. Did he tip well?

If you don't mind walking and want a quality hotel, stay at the Ritz Carlton. Once you cross the cemetery you are almost there. It's a nice walk.

Also, keep in mind that taxis in Tokyo are cheap and plentiful, I wouldn't worry too much about not being right in the middle of Omotesando.

Not too mention that Omotesando Station is on three subway lines and Meiji-Jingumae Station is on two.

Gosh, there's quite a difference in atmosphere though between the boutiques of Omotesando and the Roppongi area around the Ritz Carlton, with its touts and brothels located right across the street. Also the Ritz-Carlton is about a 25-minute walk from Omotesando crossing....

I was gonna say... It's a long walk to get to the main stretch of Omotesando from Ritz, and Roppongi is quite a different neighborhood than Omotesando. Even though there's really no upscale hotel in the immediate vicinity of Omotesando, Shibuya has a couple of "quality hotels" that are much better candidates for the OP... not that OP's tuned in anymore. Taxis in Tokyo are not exactly cheap either. Way more expensive than HKG or SIN.

Nothing within the immediate vicinity of Omotesando, really.
