Funny thing happened as I was checking out some Yamazaki 12 mini bottles at Takashimaya Nihonbashi this evening. The gentleman in front of me was checking out two bottles of Ichiro (one was the elusive peated version?) despite the fact that there were none on the shelves when I walked in. Could this be an example of the shop saving Ichito for its best customers, or those with the dept store credit card? They must’ve brought them in from the storeroom as they would’ve been long gone had they been on regular display.

Any recent sightings of the H17, H21, Y18, Nikka 12, or Hibiki Blenders Choice in Tokyo? I've been scouring stores (albeit in tourist areas) and can't seem to find them!

plenty of recent sightings... just depends how much you're willing to pay.

Willing to pay a bit more - where would you recommend?

Nikka 12 May still be available for retail at department stores, though obviously availability will fluctuate from day to day.

If paying 2x or 3x is no problem for you then in terms of availability Don Quijote has oodles of ‘em, (Hibiki 17 and BC) though the prices (as invalyd has pointed out) are quite insane ... you could also try the liquor shop in Shibuya near the LABI electronics store, but expect to pay a hefty premium there as well.

Narita terminal 2 has Hibiki Master select for 10000yen and hibiki 21 for 50000 yen. Picked up both and a Nikka kabuto for 5000 yen for a gift. Have to get a card and take to register and only 1 per customer. Had to use my wife for the transaction.

Liqours Express will have everything you want for a price. I normally wouldn't recommend this even for tourists as you can find much better prices in the US, but as it seems you might be from Canada, I know it's much harder to find the good stuff there.

Its usually one of each bottle type per person. Sadly I find T2 to be a lot worse for inventory than T1.

My wife is cabin crew for CX. Hibiki MS can be found on a very rare basis at HKIA. Maybe 8-10x a year only and they go within days.
