We'll be flying UA Global First to Singapore through NRT next year (about a 2 hour layover give or take). Do any of the lounges mentioned have showers (we'll have been traveling for about 24 hours at that point - and a nice shower wouldn't hurt at all). Robyn

Seems there are a million threads like this about NRT lounges. Perhaps we need a WIKI post to clarify all of the options, how to get in, features / amenities offered based on class of service / lounge, etc...

The ANA First Lounge has showers.

aka the ANA Suites lounge. They give you a rather nice toiletries kit if you ask at the desk. This is the lounge that SQ suggests its passengers use.

The UA lounge IFC section (upstairs) seems much different from the business class lounge downstairs. It has a bunch of very different seating areas and a big buffet area for the food. It's been quiet and pretty empty when I've been there.

Does either the UC or ANA lounge (not first class one) have locked luggage storage as they do at the UC at EWR? If so, is it convenient to get to the lounge after deplaning from an international flight if intent is to leave the airport for a few hours? Have a 12-hr layover SGN–NRT–HNL.

Saw on ANA website that they will be renovating their lounges beginning Dec. 17, 2013. Anyone know how this might affect the lounge?

No, you will not able to do that. If you want to leave the airport for few hours then you have to go through customs/immigration at NRT, just like international arrival at the U.S. Airports. If you want immediate access to a lounge, then you have to go through transit process and head to departure gate area where lounges are located.

Japan has a passport control for departing international passengers. Once you made it to the departure lounge area, then you cannot walk back to check-in area and leave the airport like you can do at the U.S. airports.

It's not normal procedure, but it's possible.
That said, there's no airside locked storage for passengers that I'm aware of. You could leave a bag in an open luggage rack at the lounge and hope for the best, but it's almost certainly against the rules and I really don't recommend it.

Would there be any issues with exiting then going to the luggage delivery kiosks to have them store carry ons for 5–7 hrs? Any idea what it would cost?

There is a baggage storage service at NRT. You mentioned ANA lounge so I am assuming you will be arriving at Terminal 1 at NRT. Luggage storage at Terminal 1 is at the arrival level, the same floor as you exit customs/immigration. Following link will show the exact location and the cost.
