NRT transit help

Just booked a great deal YYZ-NRT-SIN on a Z fare

Have never done this routing. I scoured old posts. Has anyone gone recently? I have 2 hours to make connection on outbound and an 8.5 hour layover on the return.

It would be great if you could share a walkthrough of transit, lounges available, etc.....

I could always use the Concierge help, but insider tips from this board are the best....many thx

Two hours is LOTS of time for a connection at NRT. There is a separate "international connections" route you follow.

If your inbound flight is delayed, there will be lots of ANA people milling about with peoples' names on them who will speed you through the process and/or handle rebooking.

ANA lounge in NRT is very nice (unlike the more Spartan domestic lounges).

On your return flight with the long layover, I'd suggest you get out of the airport and explore. You could make it to Tokyo and back (take public transit - taxis are $$$) or something simpler would be to visit the nearby town of Narita and go to the Narita-san shrine.

NRT is a strange airport - nothing seems to open until about 8:00am (We went outside to get some fresh air and this only pertains to the curb side restaurants etc.) ANA lounge is great. The United Lounge can get extremely busy at times - just a heads up.

Curious what you paid for that Z fare and for which dates. I've got a trip to book that way and wouldn't mind the peace of mind of a secured J seat vs. Upgrade lottery at exhorbitant prices!

My TA booked it for less than 4500 from a domestic connection city to YYZ and onwards
