NRT to Conrad - best way to get there?

We are arriving about 4:30PM, and have very light carryon bags only.

What would be the best low cost way to get from the airport to the Conrad?
I am looking at Shinbashi Station and then walking, which looks do-able.

Thanks for any advice!

jdiver wrote a great post on the varied ways of reaching the Conrad. It's from 2007, but I don't believe that anything has changed.

There's also some info in the Conrad Tokyo thread in the Hilton forum.

Ah, SanDiego1K dug it up.

Keisei Skyliner to Nippori became about 20 minutes quicker since that post.

It looks like the Suica with N'EX roundtrip is the best deal at 5900¥

keisei is 2400¥ each way.
Bus is 3000¥

Agreed?

Thanks!

Bus frequently offers several days of Tokyo subways for free.

Correct... kind of. "Several days" is pushing it.
You get one day (worth 710yen) per 3,000/3,100yen ticket journey

I don't know if you can make separate transactions to get the Limousine Bus tickets as I'm not keen on the 2 day pass being for consecutive days.

If price is the overriding factor, then the cheapest way is to take the local train. It takes about 30 minutes longer than N'EX. Sometimes requires a change of trains. Check times and connections on the Hyperdia website. I think it's good for experts, not so good for first timers. But YMMV.

Other than Limousine Bus, I don't think anything is particularly easier than the local train (Yokosuka Line) to Shinbashi. It's only a six or seven minute walk to the Conrad from the exit, and it's all underground, so you don't even need to worry about rain.

That is true if the OP manages to get from his flight (ETA 16.30) onto the 17.00 train or waits for the 17.58 train. In those cases, he has a straight run to Shinbashi and pretty damn close to the cheapest option. (It's 1450 yen vs. Keisei local trains at 1280 - which require a change of trains).

OP could also buy NEX+Suica, take the NEX to Tokyo, wait at the platform for the next Yokosuka Line train, and take that one stop down to Shinbashi. Then on the way back to NRT, take the Yokosuka from Shinbashi all the way to NRT. Total cost would be only slightly more than using the Yokosuka each way.

By just "waiting on the platform", wouldn't the next train be the one heading out towards Chiba? I think you'd have to go up and down the stairs to the opposite platform to get the train going back to Shinbashi

Nope, you're right.
