Harmonie Embrassée Osaka
Hello !
Has anybody ever stayed here in Osaka? http://www.h-embrassee.jp/ The website is only in japanese, but the rooms look v. nice. Thanks! Steffi |
In that price range, it would be unusual if the hotel weren't nice.
The location is certainly central, the Umeda district, where a lot of the non-Shinkansen rail lines come together. The JR, Hankyu, Hanshin, and subway lines are all within walking distance of one another and of the hotel. I wonder, however, how you'd make a reservation from their website if you don't speak or read Japanese, and I wonder why the hotel doesn't even have a rudimentary English website. Do they hesitate to accept foreign guests? |
Hi there,
I emailed them and got a reply back in English (not brilliant, but still not that bad) I also spoke to the reception, they speak a few words too. Ive gone for it and booked it for 3 nights. I will let you know what it is really like. |
Wonder where they got that name from? I don't know French but sure can read it as "embarrassed harmony!"

The hotel is fairly new (it opened in 2010). The company that owns it seems to be more wedding oriented, although all of their other hotels have English websites.

It just seems like the right hotel for our honeymoon so we will give it a try and I will post a report once we get back. |

Yep, it opened in April 2010. It is wedding orientated: there is a wedding chapel at the top of the building. The name comes from French and could be translated as "kissed harmony".

The location is just northeast of Umeda/Osaka stations in the Chayamachi area, which has many shops (e.g. a huge Maruzen/Junkudo bookstore in the same building as the hotel, a Loft, the nu Chayamachi complex). It's not a bad area considering the proximity to transit and number of shops.
Yes, Osaka will be our base for a few days so we quite like the idea of staying next to the stations. |
