In particular, many of the canceled Skyliners are around the time when most flights to/from North America are scheduled. During that time there is no N'Ex as well. You could easily wait an hour if you choose to take the train. This is how Japan welcomes tourists back!

How much electricity does pachinko consume in Tokyo? More than twice as much as the entire subway entire system. That's how much:
http://www.mutantfrog.com/2011/04/20...-conservation/

Nonetheless, Tokyo commuters can look forward to a hot and sweaty commute this summer, while pachinko halls crank up the power...

Balls!

Turns out that above quote about pachinko was from Tokyo Governor Ishihara, so what's the probability it is right?

Meantime, the following announcement has now appeared on the JR East web site:

Service has been restored on all Tohoku, Yamagata and Akita Shinkansen lines. For the present time, Shinkansen train operation will be at a slower speed than normal, and trains will run on a special schedule.

Geez Rich. Throw me a bone. Source please!

Mutant frog says that the deputy mayor says that the pachinko industry gave him the data ... So where did you hear different?

Here's one result from googling "Ishihara pachinko:"

Seems he took on vending machines as well.

Yeah - I can also find Ishihara's original rant about pachinko.

The article I posted cited a quotation from the pachinko industry in protest at Ishihara's loose cannon comments. The industry stated that it only used 840kW. AFAIK, that's not a quote from Ishihara. That's from the industry. (Unless you can provide a source that says Ishihara made up the number).

Just noticed that the Narita Express has gone to "partial service" http://www.jorudan.co.jp/info/english/eq_en.html

Prior to this there was an actual schedule for morning & afternoon. Any recent travelers care to comment?

Thanks for the reply. As I read this, there are no Shinjuku stops in the evening? I want to say that some of the final destinations have stops in Shinjuku...not sure. I'm May 18-23. Hoping for the best.

It may help you to look at a route map:
http://www.narita-airport.jp/en/access/train/index.html

The trains for Omiya, Ikebukuro, and Takao make a brief stop at Shinjuku.

Hey, thanks for the update timetable! This is looking much better. One of my co-workers was just there and had to bus it into town, but maybe he had arrived from prior to the old afternoon service. This new schedule is looking much better for my trip next week!

Out of curiosity, where are you fishing this schedule from?
