Another KIX - Kyoto question
What is the cheapest way to travel from Kansai airport (KIX) to Kyoto? I understand the JR Express train is the most convenient - does anyone know how much it costs and how does the cost compare with a bus (airport limousine)? Any better deals if two people are traveling together?

If you opt for the JR Express Haruka, consider purchasing a JR West Kansai area pass. You will save 900 yen I believe.

no deals eitherway. bus are generally 3000 Yen and take you to major spots/major hotels.
the JR West Kansai pass cost 2000 Yen for 1 day (4000 for 2, 5000 for 3 and 6000 for 4) and includes JR Express Haruka. HOWEVER you must buy at the ticket office (instead of the automated booths. ALSO, you'll need a copy of the ticket AND a foreign passport. figure your way to your accomodation :) (If you can take the local JR lines to your hotel it's also included with the pass, but it just go to anywhere central enough besides Umeda/Osaka Station) |
