Transit passenger check in Narita?

I am flying into Narita on AA, transferring to an ANA flight to Bangkok. Is check in available for ANA flights without having to leave security? Can I do web check for a flight leaving Japan while still in the U.S?

I only have a two hour layover, so I may be screwed if I have to leave security in order to check in for my ANA flight.

thanks in advance!

Yes there are airside transfer desks where you can check in. You will need a copy of your ticket to show to transfer security (and also to get on the inter-terminal bus).

2 hours should be just enough time, unless your inbound flight is significantly late or your transit is during the ghost period in the middle of the day when there are no inter-terminal buses.

All this assumes you either have no checked luggage or have through checked them to your destination.

To be more clear it is a copy of the itnerary, not ticket, as it is eticket nowadays, no real ticket. I don't believe there is real ticket with AA or NH.

AA arrives at Terminal 2 and ANA would depart from Terminal 1. There is an air side shuttle bus between the two terminals. The ANA check in desk will be in terminal 1.

Just remember to double check your bag for any forgotten firearms.

no guns for me

After watching Barry Switzer get busted, I know better than bringing a gun. Seriously, why would anyone try that in this day and age?

Thanks for the info. Now I have another question. I understand that Narita is imposing new fees on transit passengers. I bought my ticket before this happened, but now will have to pay. Who will I pay? Will they take a credit card. Not interested in converting to yen just to pay this fee, since I am in transit.

I don't think it is expo facto, you should be ok with your ticket. In Japan you don't pay to any official (can't speak for other countries) it is all already included in your ticket fare.

For fares that don't include all the charges, the Check In and Ticketing desks are equipped to take money from passengers for fees. For example, I've paid fees at Check In for last minute award travel when I wasn't able to pay the fees over the phone.
