JL SAN-NRT in J

I'm excited to be flying this route later this year (November). I have searched the web for trip reports but couldn't find anything recent with the sky suites. Can anyone perhaps recommend one?

Also, I arrive into NRT at 1645 on Wednesday 11/22. I'm leaving the next morning on CX at 0910 to BKK via HKG. I'm spending the Wednesday night at the Narita Hilton. Question-do I need to prepare for anything paperwork wise for my overnight stay? Or is less than 24 hour connection time considered just that?

Thank you.

Hi,

You will need to fill in the customs and immigration form ( either paper or online) as you will be entering Japan. The proof of covid vaccination will no longer be needed from 8th May.

Regards

Thank you for the info.

It appears this flight (JL 65 on 11/21/23) does not have sky suites. Does anyone have experience with the "sky recliner" seats and are they that bad with no privacy?

Not sure where you got the sky recliner info, seat map still shows SKY SUITE for this particular flight. Theres no 787 with skyrecliner.

This is the configuration.

https://www.aerolopa.com/jl-boeing-787-type-e12

It can on expertflyer and similar websites be difficult to see the difference between E03 and E12 only looking at the J cabin as it is basically displayed the same way. Look at the Y cabin lnstead. Or look in manage booking on the JAL website.

Appreciate the clarification. Apparently Seatguru is outdated with their info.

Also aerolopa has been bookmarked. Never heard of that site before and very helpful thanks

Quick question regarding F Lounge access in HND. Do I get access with the connection below after arrival in HND? And since I have to get my bags in HND, what's going to happen with them if I decide to pick them up few hours later? Do they get stored at the Lost & Found?

Hi

no f lounge access at hnd as you will be sent directly to immigration and baggage reclaim and customs on arrival
f lounge is in the departure area only.
You will not be allowed to stay overnight in naira airport departures lounge as it closes overnight.
overnight accommodation will be at your expense iirc

regards
Tbs

You will not have access to the F lounge at NRT or HND. There are plenty of paid luggage storage facilities available. I would just use those and not worried about the whereabouts of my checked bags.

Arrivals and Departures are not connected at HND, so there is no lounge access in HND. Not sure how you could be picking them up "[a] few hours later" as you need to collect them to exit Customs, and between disembarking the plane, immigration, and customs there is nothing to do other than going to the toilet.

Friendly reminder you have to self-connect between HND and NRT, since you have checked bags you could use the HND-NRT bus and dump them in a luggage locker at NRT until the next day for example.
