When are the flights out of YVR/SEA going to have PE?

I thought these flights were supposed to be reconfigured to have PE cabins by now. Anyone know when this is expected?

It is indeed disappointing, but JL seems to have made the decision not to offer PE in certain markets. Like SEA, YVR, and SAN, for instance.

My impression is sometimes that PE has a lot of cash upgrades and op ups, or are booked through codeshare at completely different prices than JAL charge. I am not sure that JAL has a smashing success with PE.

It doesn't help that JAL's economy hard and soft products are good enough that I wouldn't consider flying PE for what is usually 2x the fare.

They could just about ditch PE on the 77W if Y was in a 3-4-2 config. Half of the appeal is so my wife and I can get two seats together without a stranger.

It might be cheaper just buying that extra seat, than booking PE to begin with.

Does JAL have a process for buying that third seat?

They do for domestic, but I never checked for international. Though I'd imagine that they do, airlines generally do, but sometimes the process is pretty well hidden.

Interestingly, E (PE) fares will no longer be upgradable starting 2021 Feb. I wonder if this change along with the reduced 70% rate coming into effect later this year could make cheaper E fares possible.
