Exact timing of 1A/K release

I've gotten a few different answers, so I'm looking for something definitive. Does JAL release 1A/K for assignment at T-24, midnight day of flight (if so, who's midnight), or at the airport only?
My daughter is in 2K next week, and I'm in 2G. She gets the window seat, but I'd prefer if I could have a window too (northern lights are magic). So it's not critical, but I really want 1K.

Thanks.

whenever the OLCI window opens (depends on departure country), which is generally at T-24.
Go to manage my booking and you should be told when OLCI starts.
Then set an alarm reminder.

If it is 1A/K in F, they normally remains under airport control. So need to ask at the airport counter. No?

If the F cabin is not fully booked, 1A/1K are released approximately 72 hours before the flight (before OLCI opens) if it is not already assigned to the highest tier JMB members.

In cases where the F cabin is fully booked and some passengers do not have seat assignments, any remaining seats (including 1A/1K) automatically gets blocked (and then automatically assigned to them with no possibility to move when checking in).

Use "manage booking" to change your seat and not OLCI.

As a Premier/Diamond, I think I have managed to get 1A/2A and 1K/2K 60% of the time I flown (when booked), 20% of the time I had to get it at T-72, 20% of the time I couldn't get it so I kept 2A/2K.

I'm at T-97 hours now. Just tried selecting 1K, it still will not allow it. I'll keep trying.
Thanks.

T-75 hours and the seats are open. Unfortunately, someone snagged 1K. 1A is open, but my 7 year old is in 2K. Oh well.

Both 1A and 1K became available for selection at around T-74 for my flight. 1K is still open as of 10 hours later. The F cabin is booked 7/8.

Thanks a lot for this thread. 1A/1K opened at T-74 hours for me. Snagged 1A. First time in JL F. Super excited!

I have 2A reserved for a HND/ORD flight next year.

Just wondering why people are so keen to get 1A or 1K, unless they are trying to get two window seats on the same side.

Something special about Row 1?

I think having a boarding pass that says 1A and the fact that it is blocked and not available for all is the main attractions of the seat.

As long as I get a window seat, then it does not really matter which one I get.

The "exclusivity".

I actually switched from 1A to 1K because I realized the sun would be very bright on the left side of the plane for most of the flight (westbound daytime flight)

Nothing special. When I booked my flight 2A and 2K were already taken and I was hoping for a window seat.
